Posters and Layouts

These next three posters were created for a book entitled “Take Back Your Time”. TAKE BACK YOUR TIME is a major U.S./Canadian initiative to challenge the epidemic of overwork, over-scheduling and time famine that now threatens our health, our families and relationships, our communities and our environment.

These next three posters were an exercise on representing a lot of text in a limited space without using any images. The provided text was from an actual conference on the topic of “Creating Communicational Spaces.”

In the fall of 2008 I began working on projects for the Newberger Hillel at the University of Chicago. My first assignment was to create a brochure, poster and schedule for the High Holidays 2008.

My next assignment was to create promotional materials for the Annual Latke Hammantasch Debate. It’s a mock debate between scholars of various curricula over whether the latke (potato pancake, traditionally consumed during Hanukkah) or the hammantasch (a triangular, fruit-filed pastry traditionally eaten at Purim).  Since 2008 was an election year, the director wanted the posters to resemble the Obama and McCain campaign posters as well as typical election day posters.

The following year I was asked to create another schedule for the High Holidays but this time the entire layout was supposed to be a poster, as opposed to a brochure.

Most recently I designed a poster and flyer for a music festival that will take place in Pilsen, Chicago, on July 30th.
